Members of the provincial Scottish association gathered in Miramichi today for their Annual General Meeting in the Highland Theatre at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. This year’s annual election of officers and directors saw Llewellyn Smith of Miramichi re-elected as President and CEO. [more]

On Saturday, September 10th, New Brunswickers of Scottish descent will have much to celebrate, as thousands are expected to gather in the provincial capital to witness the re-unveiling of a statue of Robbie Burns, which for three years was missing from the Green in Fredericton. [more]

On 10 September 2011, the last chapter in the restoration story of the statue of Robbie Burns, which has stood on the Fredericton Green since 1906, will finally be closed, when the refurbished statue will be re-unveiled in a special ceremony featuring a keynote address by the Hon. Tartan Day 2011 - President's Message

April 6th, 2011, is the first time that Tartan Day will be celebrated as a national holiday in Canada. First proclaimed in New Brunswick in the early 1990s, Tartan Day has been observed annually on April 6th ever since, the inspiration for the project having come from Nova Scotia. [more]

The New Brunswick Celtic Affairs Committee, a federated group representing the Irish Canadian Cultural Association of NB (ICCANB), the NB Scottish Cultural Association, (NBSCA) and the Welsh Association of NB are preparing to petition the soon-to-be new Government of New Brunswick for appropriate recognition of their cultural significance in this province.
