NBSCA Grants



Introduction

The Arts and Heritage Funding Program has been created by the Association to encourage projects or activities in the Scottish arts and heritage through the provision of small grants to eligible organization or persons. The project and activities funded by this program will be held within the province of New Brunswick and be accessible to the general public.

Areas of Support
  • Financial support is offered in two categories
  • Scottish Festivals, Major Scottish events, and Scottish arts/heritage for the presentation of festivals, major event or series related to the Scottish culture.
  • Project grants- for projects and activities related to the Scottish culture.
  • Financial assistance- a maximum of $2000.00 will be budgeted each year (depending on the revenue). The $2000.00 will be divided equally for each of the 7 regions of New Brunswick. Each region will have allocated $250.00 with no annual carry over.
Eligibility

Eligible organizations are:

  1. Non-profit organizations whose primary purpose is presentation, promotion or education with respect to the usual, performing, literary, media, or material arts in New Brunswick, and who wish to undertake a project or activity of benefit to the Scottish community.
  2. Non-profit organizations whose primary purpose is presentation, promotion or education with respect to New Brunswick’s Scottish history or heritage, and who wish undertake a project or activity of benefit to the Scottish community in New Brunswick.

Examples of projects or activities considered eligible:
  • Festivals, events or series pertaining to the Scottish culture or heritage
  • Performances (theatre, music, dance, poetry/literature)
  • Exhibitions
  • Workshops or seminars on the Scottish culture or heritage
  • Demonstrations of the Scottish culture or heritage
  • Educational programs or activities in the Scottish heritage
  • Purchase of uniforms or specialized equipment
  • Conferences or travel outside of New Brunswick representing the Province and the Scottish culture

Evaluation

A Committee comprising of individuals from the Board of Directors and two individuals from the general membership.

Report

The organization or individual will submit a Financial report within 2 months of the completion of the project or event to the NBSCA Corresponding Secretary.
